Taylor Brown is a rowing coach and mental performance coach that works with rowers at every level. Taylor rowed at Brown University from 2008 - 2012. He was a three time Eastern Sprints and Ivy League Champion, getting elected to First Team All-Ivy his senior year. During all four years, Taylor’s boats placed in the top five at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship, highlighted by two second place finished and one third place finish. Taylor has competed at Henley Royal Regatta three times, finishing as runner-up in the Temple Challenge Cup and the Grand Challenge Cup. At the elite level, Taylor competed for three years in the single and double, racing against the top rowers in the country. As a mental performance coach, Taylor has worked with Olympians and professional athletes on strengthening their mental game. He played a role in the success of Austin’s Major League Rugby team, the Austin Gilgronis, during 2021 season where they accomplished a league leading record of 12-4.
Taylor is currently the John R. Rockwell Assistant Coach of Men’s Lightweight Rowing at The University of Pennsylvania.

Taylor will create a highly individualized periodized annual training plan that brings your fitness to its peak at your desired competition. This package includes plans delivered at the beginning of each cycle, unlimited texting for questions and clarifications, and one 30-minute phone call per cycle to give feedback and updates.
Training Plan: $200/month
Virtual Technical Coaching: $100/hr

Taylor works with Wood & Iron Fitness to provide comprehensive strength training to clients. This begins with a Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to determine your areas of weakness and from there a personalized training plan is developed in parallel with your rowing training plan.
Plan cost: $300 up front for SFMA then $75/month.

Mental training is Taylor’s specialty as a coach. Taylor works with Olympic and professional athletes in strengthening their mental game. Any mental training specific coaching will be at the rate of $100 per hour.
